The L-Citrulline & Beta-Alanine Pre-Workout Stack test

A practical training note about separating useful supplementation from noise in a mixed strength and endurance block.

Author: Denis Ciglarič// Read Time: 1 min

This is a build log, not medical advice. The useful question for my training is whether a supplement supports a repeatable session without masking poor sleep, hydration, or programming.

The protocol

I keep the test deliberately boring: the same meal timing, the same warm-up, and a repeatable Assault Bike interval session. Only one input changes at a time.

Input Timing What I track
L-Citrulline Before training Repeat power and perceived effort
Beta-Alanine Daily split dose High-intensity tolerance over the block
Water + sodium Before and during Heart-rate drift and recovery

The signal that matters

A harder-feeling session is not automatically a better session. I care about repeat power, heart-rate recovery between intervals, and whether the following day still supports the planned run or lift.

The stack stays only if it produces a useful, repeatable effect. Everything else is an expensive ritual.
